PWG PM Nov 27th Event – Oak Creek Vineyard & Winery with Olga Wahl
November 27, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Wine and Tea Party with a White Elephant Gift Exchange. We will provide hot tea for those ladies who do not wish to share in the wine tasting. There will be cheese, crackers, salami, chocolates, olives and paninis available for purchase, along with a variety of wines.
Please bring a wrapped/bagged gift with a value of not more than $15. You will draw a number at the beginning of the event, each gift has the ability to be “stolen” only 3 times. For example, Dennise is first and picks a gift and opens it, then when it is Michelle’s turn to pick a gift, Michelle has the option to either pick a gift from the pile or take the gift that has already been chosen by Dennise. When the next person’s turn comes up, they have the option of either taking a gift from the pile or taking one of the gifts already opened. However, a gift can only be stolen 3 times. If you gift is “stolen” you then have the opportunity to pick a gift from the pile to replace the one that was “stolen”.
This is a free event. Registration is not necessary.
Olga Wahl was born and raised in the Ukraine. She moved to Florida in 2002 and started her career in the hospitality industry. In 2015, she met Florian; they were married in 2016 and she officially joined the Oak Creek Vineyards winemaking family. One year later, Florian and Olga’s daughter, Vivienne, was born.
While the Verde Valley has become a popular destination for wine enthusiasts, when Oak Creek Vineyards opened in 2002, it was the valley’s first public vineyard and tasting room. This 10-acre vineyard is a family run business that produces a broad range of fine wines. Owner Mike Pearce oversees the operations, stepson Florian Wahl is an expert vintner with a degree in Wine Making from UC Davis, and Olga manages the tasting room and marketing. The winery sits on ten acres, with the vineyards on three. Wines are harvested and bottled by hand and fermented in stainless-steel barrels with French, American, and Hungarian wood chips.
Oak Creek Vineyards and Winery is located at 1555 Page Springs Rd in Cornville.
