Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona

OUR MISSION: “The Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona is committed to igniting personal and professional growth through events focused on inspiring women through networking and education.”

“Supporting, Inspiring and Empowering Women to Action.”

Our Vision

The purpose of this organization is to promote and enhance development and education of professional women by honoring outstanding women in the Verde Valley, raising money for scholarships for aspiring and worthy women, and contributing excess income to local charities.

How Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona Works

The Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona is a non-profit organization that is committed to supporting professional women, aspiring professional women and retired professional women.

Organization Structure

The Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona is governed by a board of 7-11 directors. The organization does not have a formal membership, so we have no dues. Our goal is to provide functions for women in the Verde Valley / Sedona area that are reasonable in cost. We also encourage networking, recognize outstanding women and support continuing education for local women through scholarships.

Revenues received from sponsors and other contributions help pay for the lunches, meeting room, organization expenses, scholarships and charity donations.

Types of Revenue

a. Voluntary contributions at the door or online.
b. 50/50 Raffle
c. Sponsorships
d. Special event fees
e. Scholarship donations and proceeds

g. Luncheon registrations

What we do

Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona holds quarterly luncheons with a professional speaker on the third Tuesday in January, April, July and October.  The cost for the event is $20, but we offer a discounted price of $15 for online preregistration.   This is an opportunity for attendees to network and promote their businesses through sponsorship, door prizes, and marketing material.

During the alternate months (with the exception of December), PWG of N AZ schedules PWG PM Evening Events on the fourth Tuesday of the month at local restaurants and/or businesses in the Verde Valley / Sedona area. This is a more casual event where participants can network and and promote their businesses through sponsorship, door prizes, and marketing material. There is no charge for the evening events. Participants are free to order from the host location.

Professional Women’s Group of Northern Arizona hosts and manages the PWG N AZ Facebook Group page.  Over 650 regional women have joined to promote their businesses and network with other regional women.  This is a closed group.  Membership is granted based on an individual’s relationship with the Verde Valley and outlying areas.

Making a Difference

The October quarterly luncheon is the PWG Making a Difference Award Ceremony. We receive the nominations for outstanding women in the Sedona/Verde Valley submitted by community members.  These are women who make a difference in our communities. All nominees are honored and the winner is announced at the PWG “MAKING A DIFFERENCE” Award Luncheon in October.

Scholarships

In 2017, PWG of N AZ began a scholarship program for deserving women in the Verde Valley / Sedona area. Each year the scholarship budget is determined when the yearly budget is created and approved.  Every time you attend a Quarterly Luncheon, purchase 50/50 raffle tickets, and participate in the Goody Bag program, you are funding the Scholarship Fund. We also accept online donations.
